12 Things Tyler Wants You to Know
1. I did it my way. But God forgives, and now I’m where I need to be. So, it’s God, family, the Packers and USC — in that order.
2. I’m no hero, but I did do some heroic things. I gave my full piggybank to the neighbors when their house burned down. And out of love, I distanced myself from my brothers, sisters and friends in recovery.
3. If you just happen to be reading my 12 things and you’re fighting the same fight, know that God saves his toughest battles for his strongest soldiers. Let go and let God.
4. Bennett and Kenzie, my two beautiful children, my sunshine on a rainy day, my brightest stars at night ... I’ll always be watching over you. Watch and listen for my God-winks.
5. I love you, Momma. Thank you for never giving up on me, praying for me and reminding me to pray.
6. Sis — my person, my keeper and my best friend — you taught me more than I wanted to learn, but needed to know. Keep the music playing; I’ll be listening.
7. Randen, you’re my hero and a man’s man. Thank you for inspiring me to be a better one.
8. Dad, you’re the best soldier ever. I never fully absorbed the car mechanics you so tried to teach me, but I loved our garage conversations.
9. I saved my best hugs for my special Pocatello friends: Amy, Branden, Cody and Hannah. From daycare to weddings to fatherhood and beyond, Brad Hogan: best friends forever.
10. I’m loved. And anyone who met me had a friend. Some preceded me on this journey ... my brother Adam, my dog Jake, uncles Darin, Jack and Don. I’ll let them know you’re thinking of them.
11. Life will be different now; things have changed. But remember, I’m still Tyler.
12. I fought my way through a man-made hell and finally found the God-created heaven we’ve all heard about. Don’t pray for my return; pray for each other until we meet again.
I’ve left the best of me on earth: my two amazing and beautiful children, Kenzi and Bennett Turner; my mom and dad, Laura and Robin Turner; my sister and brother-in-law, Hope and Randen Knight; my nieces, Tylee, Blakelynn, Randii and Kyla; and my nephews, Trevin and Clayton Pearson.
My family and friends will celebrate my life at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at my favorite church, Crosspoint Alliance, 1330 Powers Ave., Lewiston. Wear casual and join them.

I was heartbroken to hear of Tyler’s passing. He was such a ray of sunshine—always easygoing, kind, and willing to dig in wherever needed. Tyler brought a quiet strength and positivity to every team he was part of, and it was truly a privilege to work alongside him.
He will be deeply missed by all of us who had the joy of knowing him. Please know that his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched, and that his babies will be surrounded with love, always.
